Day 22, Taste & Body Wisdom
Happy Easter to you my dear Friends.
My parents, my partner and I got to spend the day together. It’s been a lovely day with wonderful good food. Just like my grandmother and her mother used to do, we had goat for our dinner, after a salad with wild plants and herbs from the garden. And of course eggs.
During a sunny day I know it's good to drink water. Sometimes I just forget or drink too little. My body does send me signals, like the feeling of thirst, dry lips, small eyes, headache but I still don’t listen. That’s the time when I get the urge for Salty Chips or Popcorn. Mhmmm, yummy and I stop for a salty break. With that saltiness I do always want to drink water with it too. So my body tells me to drink by saying why don’t you have some salt.
Cool, eh? I love that language from my body’s wisdom. And it's even more fun to figure things like this out about your own self.
When you are using your sense of taste and body wisdom together, do you ever get a craving from somewhere in your body for a particular flavor, or food, or taste?
Some things to do for today:
Try having a taste memory. See if you can find one or two, maybe more!
For example, eat an apple and chew it 32 times with your eyes closed, and slowly. Feel your body and your sense of taste, let it communicate with your whole body and feel what this tells you.
Someone in your family or friends circle made something special that you really loved. Use your memory to taste it. How does this make you feel to remember this? Perhaps you can find the recipe and make it again, and treat yourself? Why not!
Questions:
Did you feel the water run into your mouth when you went back in your memory of tasting something delicious?
What kind of dishes did you remember?
With which dish would you like to treat yourself with in the coming days after experiencing this exercise?
