Journey to the Kalahari

Greetings Friends,

Last year I visited the San Bushman in Botswana. In that amazing setting I experienced a moment where the values of the art of mentoring, deep nature connection and family culture fused together. We hunted, gathered and walked together. We lived, laughed and shared our common human heritage.

Over the years our mentoring network has been gifted with the chance to have worked with many great elders and their powerful teachings. In this San community, all the generations from the youngest to the oldest are present, caring and contributing to a great love of land and one another. Our mentors are not a school, they are a family. For me, immersion into their culture was truly profound, life changing and heartfelt. Those from our community, who made the journey with me, also testified to how their understanding of nature connection was affected on the deepest level by the Naro people.

I’ve been traveling this year speaking to many of our colleagues from all over the country and the world. I’ve heard so many people express a desire to join us on our next visit to the San Bushman village. Please know, there is still room in this year’s trip at the end of April. I want my community to join me in connecting with the community of the San. Please contact us if you are ready.

All the best,

Jon Young
